Dogwood Trees

Dogwood Trees – A Favorite Ornamental

Dogwood trees make an excellent statement when they are in bloom.  These great trees bloom during the late spring and early parts of summer.  They come in a variety of colors such as white, pink and red.  Their flowers are beautiful and show a tint of white when they bloom in pink and red.

It is a relatively small tree – generally only 20 to 30 feet high. The branches of these trees will spread but can be pruned. It is recommended to prune these trees in spring, just after the flowers fade. They are also beautiful during the fall as their leaves will turn to a dark purple.  They also produce berries that are loved by the squirrels and birds.  They grow well in moist and well-drained soils and full and partial sunlight.

The Kousa Dogwood, also known as the Japanese Dogwood, is a customer favorite at Plant America Nursery because of it’s year around interest.
